New Rules for the Tour

Are you ready for all of the new rules for tour?

IJSBA closed the period for receiving votes at Midnight, PST, on January 8, 2013. There will be a short period to audit some voting submissions not received, but, at this point, the outcome of the results will not change (except possibly for one item).


Please see the following results of the rule change voting below. A larger report will follow shortly.

Shall IJSBA allow aftermarket hoods in Ski Limited Classes?

Result: PASSED
Shall IJSBA specifically name valves and valve seats as wear and tear items eligible for replacement in Stock Classes?

Result: PASSED
Shall IJSBA remove the provision for aftermarket ECU from Stock Classes? (Note: if passed, would require a one-year waiting time and would not be official until 2014).

Shall IJSBA allow Trim Tabs to be shortened in Limited Classes?

Result: DID NOT PASS
Shall IJSBA increase the provision to include wheels?

Result: DID NOT PASS.
Comment: This voting item was introduced as it was received by IJSBA. The suggestion was to allow Supercharger Wheels for Stock.
Shall IJSBA have model specific boost pressures in Limited Class?

Result: DID NOT PASS
Shall IJSBA allow the bond rail width to be increased in Ski Open? If yes, shall this provision be limited to scale or a provision of standard measurement.

Result: PASSED.
Comment: The IJSBA shall allow an increase of the bond rail width on a scale which allows a proportional increase of the OEM width in relation to the maximum width.
Shall IJSBA increase the minimum weight in Runabout Open class? If yes, shall the weight be set at 700lbs or 750lbs?

Result: PASSED.
Minimum weight for a Four Stroke Runabout in Open Class shall be 750lbs.
Shall electric, marine type, fans be allowed in Ski Open and Runabout classes?

Result: DID NOT PASS
Shall IJSBA allow a lowering of the tray wells in Ski Open class? If yes, shall this provision be model specific?

Result: DID NOT PASS
Comment: The IJSBA Managing Director is submitting this vote for a possible recount and reconsideration as the Yes/No ratio was significantly closer than any other voting item.
Shall IJSBA allow aftermarket fuel injectors in Runabout Limited Classes?

Result: PASSED
Shall IJSBA allow breather holes to be cut into OEM hoods in Runabout Limited Classes?

Result: DID NOT PASS
Shall IJSBA allow aftermarket water boxes in Runabout Limited Classes?

Result: DID NOT PASS
Shall IJSBA institute a maximum weight tolerance of 70lbs in Runabout Stock Class?

Result: PASSED
Comment: There is a likelihood, given the comments received during voting, that this will be ratified as an amount in the range of 50 to 60lbs as a maximum tolerance. A percentage based tolerance appears to be strongly preferred.
Procedural: Shall IJSBA have the Veterans Runabout Class remain an Open Class at World Finals as opposed to the announced change to Limited?

Result: DID NOT PASS.
Comment: Competitors who participate in Veterans Runabout must use Limited Class legal PWC. There is a possibility that this may apply only to Four Stroke Runabout equipped with a Supercharger or Turbocharger. However, this is not determined yet.
Procedural: Shall IJSBA merge Ski Open and Ski GP into one class at World Finals by ending Ski Open?

Result: DID NOT PASS
Procedural: Shall IJSBA merge Runabout Open and Runabout GP into one class at World Finals by ending Runabout Open?

Result: DID NOT PASS
Procedural: Shall IJSBA merge Two Stroke Ski Limited back into Ski Limited to create a single Ski Limited Class?

Procedural: Shall IJSBA require Pro Ski and Pro Runabout classes to use slalom score points towards their overall score?
