2013 Wisconsin Dells Jet Ski / PWC Freeride
The Badgerland Jet Pilots, an AWA Charter Club, will be hosting their second annual Wisconsin Dells Freeride starting on May 31st through June 2nd, 2013, at the Dells River Bay Camping Resort and Marina (http://dellsriverbay.com/). This is the weekend immediately following Memorial Day.
Last year’s Wisconsin Dells Freeride attracted about 100 riders over the 3-day span, and this year’s event is already promising to be much bigger, with 150-200 riders expected. Currently, we have attendees coming from Ontario, Florida, Colorado, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Many excited club members and attendees started booking their cabins and campsites as early as January of this year, and the internet pwc forums have been buzzing with chatter from jet ski enthusiasts who can’t wait for summer and the (northern) freeride season to hurry up and get here!

We here at Twangled would like to send our deepest apologies for the new pathetic video player which restricts you from browsing all of the great content that we have worked so hard to put together. Typical of Google, they deleted one of the key features and true product differentiators in lue of an iframe implementation. YAWN... Yes - all of the videos are still there, but if you would like to browse them or see the thumbnail before viewing, you will need to conveniently visit YouTube to do any of that. We are looking for a replacement player. Stay tuned for more!

It has been more than 2 months since my visit to EME, which produced a night test ride and back flip on an EME Micro ski as well as a partnership between Eric Malone Enterprises and Freestyle Factory... The excitement level has never been higher!
After a few more conversations with Eric, I am pleased to announce that I have ordered my 1200 CC EME Micro and will officially be riding an EME / Freestyle Factory ride in 2013. Special thanks to my newest sponsor: Eric Malone Enterprises for making this possible.
I am stoked to be working with Eric again and look forward to being one of the first U.S. Pros on his new ride! Is it time for tour yet?

Antioch, IL - Det-Chi Video continues to build onto their leading retail brand; Freestyle Factory, by introducing the personal watercraft industries first custom freestyle jet ski builder. Throughout the past 6 years Det-Chi Video has taken FreestyleFactory.com from a simple 1-page website; to a full multi-channel retailer complete with storefront and the latest in online eCommerce technology.
Freestyle jet skiing has been propelled in recent years in part by a surge in watercraft technology. Today more manufacturers are building ultra-light aftermarket freestyle jet ski hulls and engines than ever. With engine and hull combinations seeming endless, Team Twangled teammates and Freestyle Factory co-founders Gary Burtka and Greg Brock thought it would be great to carve out a niche dedicated not to manufacturing these products, but to offering combinations of the best tested and proven products from across the available brands.
Today Freestyle Factory is continuing to push the envelop for freestyle jet skiing; not on the water, but on the web with the release of Freestyle Jet Ski Builder 1.0. “The freestyle jet ski builder has been our vision for quite a while now. It’s thrilling to be able to bring this project from vision through inception.” Said Burtka; who also noted that the final vision includes updating pictures, refined sub options and custom turf / graphic schemes. Today’s version release includes freestyle jet ski hulls, engines & aftermarket part combinations from over a dozen manufacturers. You can select to bring Freestyle Factory your own parts or full jet ski; or just order all of the random miscellaneous parts that you are missing. right from the convenience of your home.

Yesterday was the final day of 2012 Winter X Games, and it was amazing. The experience left me inspired. Not only inspired to go out this spring and try some new flip variations, but also left me inspired to climb up on my soap box and ask why...
It was 8 pm EST and I was ready for the final sick events of Winter X, which included Snowcross Big Trick and Men's Snowboard Half Pipe. I sat on my couch fresh pizza and cold beer in hand... The DVR was even running. When I turned on ole ESPN at 8 as scheduled, I was disappointed by a basketball game. WTF? Basketball - in the middle of X Games. To make matters worse, it was in overtime. Well how long could a 5 minute OT take - you would think 5 minutes right? NOPE... Apparently professional athletes at that level require 5 minutes of rest for every 1 minute of playing because the OT took 1/2 hour. UG - seriously... These guys can't run back and forth for 5 straight minutes? How Lame. I have continued to dwell on this now wondering the real root to my frustration. It wasn't just the terrible 'entertainment' scheduling... I mean they were going from a Dallas / San Antonio (Local) NBA game to seemingly World Wide coverage of an International Sporting event. I guess that gets delayed for a few boring layups. Why should we break out that innovation on PRIME TIME. If the online space is any indicator of overall popularity, Saun White was a TOP 10 trending topic on Twitter most of the night. I didn't see that old NBA game hit the digispear not once... The advertisers have taken note, with Brands like North Face really cashing in. Yet the programming stations seem to not notice this trend.

Wavedaze 2012 April 27, 28 & 29 Virginia Beach, VA
If you haven't had a chance to check this freeride group out, or the event(s) that they put together, check this out!
The Virginia Beach WaveJunkies are pleased to present the Sixth annual Wavedaze in Virginia Beach, VA April 27, 28 &
29 2012. Come out and hang with the Wavejunkies this year and support The Kevin Bruins Family. Kevin tragically lost
his life last year while riding the waves he loved, this memorial ride will benefit an education fund for his children. This story hit close to the Twangled crew when it came across the wire. Not only did we loose one of our own just 1.5 years ago; but Kevin was a fellow Michigander & shop owner.
The growing success of this event is directly connected to the support and contributions of our sponsors and volunteers. Please
join us in 2012 to continue our efforts to promote the positive aspects of personal water craft as recreation and a sport.

I wanted to take a minute and thank all of my Facebook followers, friends & fans for all of the interest in the ski decision this year. The texts, emails and IM's were a ton of fun and I figured this was a good opportunity to share everything with everyone.
Over the past few months I began working towards the decision of which ski I would start next season on. Being it is my 20th year, I wanted to make sure it was something that would allow me to put on a killer show. The other criteria was that Freestyle Factory (my shop) needed to sell it. That left both Bob and Kong on the table - 2 killer Freestyle Jet ski hulls.
After quite a bit of thought, I have known both Patrick Bogart of Xscream and Derrick Kemnitz Sr. of the Ski Clinic for some time and had an interest in supporting both of their companies. I unfortunately only had budget for 1 hull this winter. I decided that a my Xscream motor and handle pole would outfit a Bob quite nicely, and would allow me to support multiple mutiple friends at the same time. The build was on.

Don't laugh I am actually practicing my tough guy face even though I am totally stoked about my new Bob Freestyle Ski.
Bob arrived all crated up safely with no runs, drops or errors. I picked the hull up and quickly dropped up in Antioch, IL for a quick build. The plan was to slap the ski together (from all of the parts of my gray ski - plus a few new parts) and get a late season ride. After all the water was unseasonably warm throughout Illinois. By unseasonably warm I mean that it was NOT frozen.

Antioch, IL - Freestyle Factory is happy to announce the intent to expand the team in 2012. In 2011 the team continued to grow by adding Pro Freestyle Rider Joe Eckert, Ryan Pizziola Pro Rookie and Great Lakes Watercross 2011 Tour Champion, as well as the team's first Female rider, Amateur Freestyler Jessica Wiebesiek. This year with the addition of many new product categories & manufacturers, we also look forward to adding a few new heads to the team.
Not just for Freestylers, much of the new product line is for YOU racers... So get on board. You all know Burtka has done his fair share of laps over the years. That is unless you are AFRAID of having the word FREESTYLE on your RACE ski... We dare you!
